KERALA - Gods own country - Where our roots are - reminds us of the endless stretches of backwaters, exotic beaches, swaying coconut trees, verdant hill stations, traditional houseboats, ayurveda and much more��.The culture of Malayalees has a flavour of its own, which has resulted in the distinctiveness of their language, dress, and culture.

Kerala's multiculturalism is reflected in the various festivals belonging to different faiths. In fact, everyday in some corner of the state, festivities are in full swing celebrating the facets of a culture that has stood the test of time.

Malayalee Association of Queensland (MAQ) was formed in 1998 by a handful of Malayalees who believed in preserving our rich culture and heritage and passing it on to the future generations who will form the multicultural fabric of Australian society.

Over the years MAQ has grown into a great organization with over 500 members enjoying the essence of our culture and heritage. This has been fundamentally possible because of unconditional commitment of the torch bearers of MAQ and the benevolent support from the community.
